Our Cathedral Is Being Renewed to Welcome the Pope
“Caring for the house of God is also caring for the life of every brother and sister.”
Our Cathedral is going through a key stage of its restoration and enhancement. Scaffolding is being installed and machinery is moving both inside and on the façades. To keep visitors and workers safe, the church will remain closed until November 10.
We will reopen its renewed doors to welcome, as the Church of Córdoba, the visit of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV.
The parish office remains open from 9 AM to 3 PM. You can also reach it by phone and through our digital channels for sacramental arrangements, Mass intentions and inquiries.
We invite you to live this time as a season of waiting that prepares us for our reunion, and to accompany both the restoration and the Pope’s visit with your prayer.
Official Statement
The Cathedral of Córdoba shares the official statement from its Parish Priest, Fr. Javier Soteras, regarding the participation of Fr. Alejandro Nicola in a recent Eucharistic celebration.
The Cathedral Shines with New Light
Caring for this church is, for us, a way to love and serve this city and its people.
Today, the heart of the Church beats with sorrow. We bid farewell to Pope Francis, a humble and close pastor, a profound witness of God's mercy. His warm words, his fatherly gaze and his tireless closeness to those who suffer most will remain forever in our memory and in the soul of our people.
"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
May the Lord welcome him into His peace and embrace him with the same love he knew how to show through his gestures and his life. Thank you, Francis, for guiding us with humility and hope. As you taught us, we continue on our way with joy and faith.
Holy Week at the Cathedral of Córdoba: A Shared Experience of Faith
Throughout this Holy Week, our Cathedral once again became a home, a refuge and a meeting place for so many pilgrims who walked with Christ in His Passion, Death and Resurrection. From the joy of Palm Sunday, through the depth of the Easter Triduum, to the renewing light of Easter Sunday, each celebration was lived with reverence, gratitude and a deep sense of community.
We are deeply grateful to all who came, to those who helped in every liturgical detail, and to those who, by their presence or their prayer, made this Holy Week a true witness of hope. Let us keep walking together as a Church, as brothers and sisters, as pilgrims of hope.
On December 24, 2024, the opening of the Holy Door of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican marked the beginning of the Jubilee 2025, which ran until January 6, 2026.
Under the theme Pilgrims of Hope, the Jubilee was announced by Pope Francis in February 2022 with the aim of "recovering the strength and certainty of looking to the future with an open mind" and "helping to restore a climate of hope," which the Pope described as "urgent."

30 Years of Radio María
With Mary, hope is sung out loud! On December 8 at 8 p.m., in front of the Cathedral of Córdoba, we shared a unique moment celebrating 30 years of mission as a work of Mary. She called us to unite our voices and hearts in a great song of gratitude!
There was live music by Nahuel Pennisi, and the children of Colegio San Juan Pablo II took the stage. Doña Jovita brought joy and laughter.
