The Cathedral's Works and Projects

The Cathedral of Córdoba has led a number of works and projects that seek to preserve and spread faith and culture, while also reflecting its deep commitment to the community. Among them are Casa Madre Teresa, a space for spirituality and service that welcomes and accompanies those seeking a moment of reflection and prayer; Colegio San José, a school that educates young people in values and faith and strives to be a place of inclusion and opportunity for all; and the Brochero Trail, a route that follows in the footsteps of Saint José Gabriel Brochero, a priest from Córdoba who devoted his life to evangelization and to serving the poor, and which has become a symbol of the Cathedral's commitment to the community and to the faith.

Through these works and projects, the Cathedral of Córdoba seeks to live out its commitment to the community and to be a place of encounter, reflection and service for all. Its goal is to be a living, active presence in the city, bringing value and meaning to people's lives, and to bear witness to faith and Christian charity.

San José School

The school is located at Independencia 302, in downtown Córdoba, surrounded by residential buildings, shops, and historic and educational landmarks. It was founded in 1881 by Father Cayetano Carlucci, SJ, who served as its first rector.

As a Christian community, it places the person at the center and offers a quality education that embraces every dimension of life. In 1982, the Jesuit Fathers entrusted the school to the Archdiocese, and it became the parish school of the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption (the Cathedral).

The school is therefore committed to fostering Christian values, following the Educational Pastoral Project of the Archdiocese of Córdoba. It is an evangelized and evangelizing Christian community that strives to grow constantly in faith, hope and charity, in communion with the Church, sharing the Gospel with the world.

Brochero Trail

The Interpretation Center is part of the Brochero Trail, created in honor of Saint José Gabriel del Rosario Brochero. The trail retraces his childhood, his formation, and his pastoral and social work. It invites visitors to relive his story of service, works and miracles, to visit the places where he lived, and to discover part of the history and geography of Córdoba.

A fully signposted 240 km (150-mile) route of faith links three towns where the Saint left his mark: Villa Santa Rosa, the city of Córdoba, and Villa Cura Brochero.

The route can be traveled on foot, on horseback or by bicycle. Those who complete it are recognized as "Brochero Pilgrims." Each pilgrim receives a passport that is stamped at every stop along the trail.

A waymarker was also unveiled to twin the trail with the Camino de Santiago in Galicia, Spain. The Government of Galicia sent this marker as a symbol of the fellowship and cooperation between the two routes.

Cathedral of Córdoba Choir

The Cathedral of Córdoba Choir is a mixed-voice ensemble formed in early 2026. Created to represent the Cathedral in the musical and cultural life of the city and the country, under the direction of Milagro Flores, it is also a space for the musical and personal growth of its members.
From the outset, its repertoire has included not only sacred music from different periods of history, but also Argentine folk music and works from the universal choral repertoire.

Activities began on March 3, 2026. The choir rehearses on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. at Colegio San José. To join, candidates take an audition that assesses vocal health, pitch and any prior music-reading skills, with a view to their continued development.
