Get to Know His Story

Father Javier Soteras is a priest of the Archdiocese of Córdoba. He holds a bachelor's degree in Theology and is a journalist, a graduate of the Colegio Universitario de Periodismo in Córdoba.
His priestly vocation and his passion for communication have gone hand in hand throughout his life.

As a young priest, Father Javier founded Radio Encuentro (1995) together with Father Francisco Palacios, with the support of the parish community of Our Lady of the Rosary and Saint Joseph the Worker in the Primero de Mayo neighborhood.

From this experience Radio María Argentina was born (1996), which has since grown into an evangelization platform reaching thousands of people.

He also founded the nonprofit Asociación Civil Hombre Nuevo (2003), an initiative devoted to promoting the dignity of the poorest of the poor.

He is currently President of the Asociación de Fieles María, which includes Radio María Argentina and Hombre Nuevo.

On October 1, 2022, he became parish priest of Córdoba Cathedral. In 2023, together with a dedicated team of collaborators, he opened the Mother Teresa of Calcutta House, a place of encounter, dialogue and family belonging to the Cathedral, to welcome our brothers and sisters experiencing homelessness.

Father Javier carries out every pastoral service with special attention to the spiritual and social needs of the community.

With a deeply pastoral heart, Father Javier Soteras seeks to share the Good News of the Gospel, always open to new ways of reaching people, especially those who most need to hear the Word of God.
